South African Artist, Tania Babb

In 1985 Tania finished graphic design at Ruth Prowse School of Art, Cape Town and apprenticed to Barbara Jackson (Ceramic Sculptor) Cape Town in 1986.
From 1986 to 1988 Tania took part in many group exhibitions in Cape Town. In 1988 she traveled Europe and did a Ceramic and Life Drawing Course at the Surrey Institute, UK. Back in South Africa, her career went from strength to strength with group exhibitions in Cape Town, Johannesburg, as she worked as Studio Artist for Advertising Agencies: McCann Erickssen, Berry Bush, Lintas
In 1991 she also exhibited at Chelsea Craft Fair, London, UK and was featured as “Mover”; “People born to go Far”, Cosmopolitan Magazine.
Among many exhibitions, Tania also had a “Three Generation Exhibition” The Art Scene, Cape Town with
Mother, Anne Babb and Grandmother, Valerie Tomlinson, in 1994, as well as a Solo Exhibition at Borge house, Cape Town
She exhibited at Standard Bank Festival of Arts, Grahamstown and taught Ceramics at Wynberg Workshop.
She Started TANIA BABB CERAMIC SCHOOL
In 1995 she had a SELL OUT Exhibition at Standard Bank Festival of Arts, Grahamstown.
In 1996 she had a working trip to San Deigo USA, where her work was also exhibited in numerous galleries in the US.
In 1997 Tania’s work was selected for Fletcher Challenge Ceramics Award Auckland New Zealand
Again after a successful working trip to USA, her work was represented in numerous West Coast US galleries
In 1999 she had a Solo Exhibition Porcupine Plettenberg Bay
Potters Association Regional Exhibition
In 2000 her work was selected for the Altech biennale Johannesburg and was also featured in December issue of Elle Décor, Marie Clare, Fairlady
In 2004 her work was selected for the Brett Kebble Art Awards.
From 2005 on she also exhibited at Decorex Expo Cape Town Convention Centre and Design Indaba Cape Town Convention Centre . In 2011 she was invited to be the guest artist at the Natal Regional Exhibition held by the South African Potters Association.
