South African Artist, Kobus Kotze
Kobus studied agriculture and on his farm in the Eastern-Cape, he recorded a barrage of ideas during the day and spend the evenings in his studio expressing it on canvas. He is a self-taught artist. Kobus held his first solo exhibition in 1971 and many other exhibitions followed. Artists mix and combine colours differently and the individual artist mixes colours in a number of different ways within his own work. It is essentially a matter of discipline, informed judgment, desire and love of colour. His work is seen in private and corporate collections throughout South Africa and overseas.
